Michael "MikeE" Phillips

January 28, 1952 — December 13, 2020

MikeE Phillips, 68, of Wheelersburg, died Sunday, December 13, 2020, at his residence.  Born on January 28, 1952 in New Boston, he was a son of the late Kermit and Hilda Bird Phillips and was a retired welder for the Pipe Fitters Local #577.

MikeE was a member of Pleasant Grove Church and also a member and past commander of the James Dickey Post #23 of the American Legion.  He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

MikeE was a proud United States Navy veteran of the Viet Nam Era.

Surviving are three daughters, Shawn M. (Mario Peyes) Phillips, Dawn M. Phillips and Loretta K. (James T. Denney) Phillips, all of California; three sisters, Janie Truitt and Diana Sue Phillips, both of Sciotoville and Patricia Davis of Enon; seven grandchildren, Mikayla R. Phillips, Mia R. Reyes, Madison R. Reyes, Katelyn I. Phillips, Dorian L. Foster, Tate (Kristin) Phillips, Caleb P. Phillips; two great-grandchildren, Sophia Jaramillo and Aiden R. Phillips and a lifelong friend, Juanita Saenz of CA.

A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 19th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Michael Wyatt officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors by the James Dickey Post #23.

The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Masks will be required, but not furnished by the funeral home.  Social distancing will be observed.

In remembrance of a great man, father, brother and friends.  It’s amazing the world was able to hold him, because he was bigger than life itself.  He loved so much you would have thought he’d met his capacity long ago---not so!!!  MikeE always made room for everyone.  Gone but never forgotten.  MikeE is survived not only by family, but every friend who became family.
