Kenton Staten

Kenton Lee Staten, 63, of New Boston, died Thursday, January 7, 2021, at River Run in Franklin Furnace.  Born on July 12, 1957 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Earl Staten and Shirlie Williams and former owner of Kent’s Hair Styling.

Kent was a member of Portsmouth First Apostolic Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Kendra Staten, three brothers, Mark (Sherry) Darby of Sciotoville, Todd Williams of Minford and Chris (Erica) Williams of Wilmington, NC; a special niece and caregiver, Emilie (Josh) Ruby of Rubyville; a nephew, Kyle Darby of Sciotoville and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, January 11th, at Memorial Burial Park with Rev. Don Hammond officiating.

The family will receive guests at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Monday.

Masks will be required, but not furnished by the funeral home.  Social distancing will be observed.
