Judy Murta passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021, at the SOMC Hospice Center with her family at her bedside. Judy was born on February 1, 1943 in Cincinnati to the late Ancel Earl and Eileen Hamilton Harris.
Surviving are her loving husband of sixty years, Russell Murta, two sons, Scott (Kris) Murta of Powell and Steven Murta of Sciotoville and nephew Jamey (Julie) Lundy of Rosemount; a sister, Joyce Yates of Grove City; six grandchildren, Michael, Matthew (Lindsey), Paige, Shayne, Jennifer and Julia; and a great-granddaughter, Kattara. Preceding her in death was her brother, Jack Harris.
After completing her high school education, Judy became a nurse’s aide serving at Mercy Hospital, Southern Ohio Medical Center and most recently for SOMC Hospice. Judy was a friend to all who met her and a valued colleague who dedicated her career to caring for others with compassion and understanding.
Family was Judy’s greatest source of happiness. Her heart and home were always open to family and friends. She will be remembered for her generous spirit and kindness.
A service will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Worley’s Run Cemetery.
