William Craig

July 23, 1941 — March 6, 2014

William R.  Craig, 72, of Sciotoville, died Thursday, March 06, 2014, at Kings Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, KY.  Born on July 23, 1941, in Dawajak, Michigan,  he was a son of the late Russell and Jenny Salyers Craig.  Bill was a Navy veteran, former owner/operator of Craig’s Body Shop in Wheelersburg, and was a member of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church.

Also preceding him in death was a son, Danny Craig, and sisters, Patty Craig, Sandy Galloway and Ramona Burke.

Surviving are his wife, Darlene Walls Craig, a son, Randal (Debra) Craig of Wheelersburg, two daughters, Rhonda Lynn (Brian) Blanton and Steffeni (John) Thoroughman, all of Wheelersburg; two stepsons, Jerry Edward Reedy of Otway and Christopher Scott Reedy of Portsmouth; two stepdaughters, Deana Michelle Payton of Pickerington and Stacy Reedy-Montavon of Minford; a brother, Clarence “Butch” (Norma) Craig of Wheelersburg; two sisters Linda (Larry) Haywood of Wheelersburg and Brenda (Dave) Lynkous of Wheelersburg; 19 grandchildren and a great-grandson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Eden Park at 11:00 a.m. Monday with Pastor Kenny Estepp officiating.  Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park with military honors by the James Dickey Post of the American Legion.  The family will receive friends at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and at the church one hour prior to the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Peerless Chapter 10.
