Viola Roe

July 12, 1925 — October 1, 2016

Viola Margaret Roe, 91, of Minford, died Saturday, October 1, 2016, at the SOMC Hospice Center.  Born on July 12, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Helen McDonnel Sparks and was a retired receptionist for the late Dr. Harlan Williams for 20 years.

Margaret was dedicated to the Nazarene faith and was a member of Rosemount Road Church of the Nazarene.  She was very active and enjoyed participating in Junior Church and, along with her late husband, Rev. Emerald Roe, made serving God their life.

Also preceding Margaret in death were a son, Floyd Gilbert Roe, a brother, Orland Sparks and two grandsons, Matthew Voorheis and Jerod McLaughlin.

Surviving are a son, Stanley (Sherion) Roe of Marysville, WA; three daughters, Holly (Charles) Seibert of Minford, Cecilia (Steven) Meyers of West Portsmouth and Sandra K. Pond of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; six grandchildren, Robert Roe, Jennifer Roe, Steven Seibert, Duane David Meyers, Stacy Walker and Kelly Cummins, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters.

A funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. Stanley W. Roe and Rev. Bob Taylor officiating.  Interment will be in McKendree Cemetery.

The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.  Memorial gifts may be made to Rosemount Church of the Nazarene or SOMC Hospice.
