Sharon McCoy

April 4, 1935 — April 22, 2015

Sharon Lee McCoy, 80, of Wheelersburg, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.  Born on April 4, 1935 in Greenup County, KY, she was a daughter of the late Harlan and Carmon Warnock Terry and was a member of Grace Community Church at Bigelow.

Sharon was a retired supervisor for the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, a member and past matron of the Lucasville Order of Eastern Star #495, a member of the Daughters of America and River City Council #11 of the United Commercial Travelers.  She was also a former member of the James Dickey Post #23 Auxiliary, former special deputy and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Also preceding her in death was her previous husband, Glenn Fitch.

Surviving are her husband, Raymond McCoy, three daughters, Deana (Foy) Allen of Raceland, KY, Rebecca (Michael) Bennett of Portsmouth and Lettie (James) Johnson of Sciotoville; two stepdaughters, Marilyn (Kevin) Zumbro of Malta and Mary Lou (Jack) Rochotte of McConnellsville; a brother, Harlan (Joanie) Terry II of Wheelersburg; two sisters, Berneda Wolfe of Wheelersburg and Martena (Tony) Lauro of Portsmouth; and ten grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew Bennett, Adam and Grace Lee Allen, twins Nathan and Andrew Johnson, Sarah and Patrick Zumbro, Amanda Baumgartner, and Stephen Rochette.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25th, at Grace Community Church at Bigelow with John Gowdy, Gary Chaffin, Kevin Hay and Aaron Reed officiating.  Entombment will be in the Edgewood Abbey Mausoleum at Memorial Burial Park.

The family will receive guests at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday and one hour before the service at the church.  An Eastern Star service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday.
