Ruth Eileen Wallace, 96, formerly of Sciotoville, died Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at her daughter, Violet Ann, and son-in law, Stanley Joseph Rooney’s home in Portland, Oregon surrounded by her family. She was born in Scioto County, Ohio on October 6, 1925, of the late LeRoy and Retta Pyle. She was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin James Wallace, Jr. and two sisters, Violet Marie Pyle and Emma Mildred McHone.
Eileen was a 1943 graduate of Portsmouth East High School, and was employed by Detroit Steel Corporation as an Executive Secretary for 30 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Cornerstone Nazarene Church for nearly 60 years, and served her faith community in many volunteer capacities including Missionary Society President and church secretary for 30 years. Surviving are a daughter, Violet Ann (Stanley) Rooney, of Portland, Oregon; three granddaughters, Kathleen (Matthew) Smith of Wilmington, North Carolina, Brigid (Joseph) Yoder of West Lynn, Oregon, and Margaret (Erick) Brand of Snoqualmie, Washington; 6 great-grandchildren, Luke and Owen Smith, Audrey and Madeline Yoder, Benjamin and Olivia Brand; and a sister, Betty (Glenn) Willis of Estero, Florida.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Garry Proehl officiating. Entombment will be in the Memorial Burial Park, with a luncheon following at Cornerstone Nazarene Church. The family will receive friends at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26th.
