Robert Worthington

Robert “Bird” Worthington, 64, of West Portsmouth, died Saturday, April 4, 2015, at the SOMC Hospice Center. Born on August 21, 1950 in Columbus, he was a son of the late William and Dorothy Vernon Worthington and was retired from CSX Railroad. “Bird” was an Army veteran of the Viet Nam Era, life member of the James Dickey Post #23 of the American Legion, employed also at the former Empire-Detroit Steel Corporation and was a Catholic.
Surviving are his wife, Sue McMonigal Worthington, children, Kristie Worthington of Portsmouth, Elizabeth Worthington of Columbus, Ryan Arrowwood of Columbus and Jason Arrowwood of Columbus, grandchildren Savannah, Chelsie, Ali, Chase, Michael, Jayden, Jessica, Nathan, Kira, Krysten and Kaylee; and great-grandchildren Xavier and Jordin.
A funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8th at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. Peter Michael officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the James Dickey Post Burial Detail.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
