Rita "Memaw" Davis, 86, of Warren, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Community Skilled Health Care Centre in Warren. Born on September 4, 1924 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Nora Artis Martin and was a retired secretary for Alcan Aluminum in Warren. Rita was a member of the Howland United Methodist Church in Warren, an avid golfer, bridge player, and was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Ohio State University, and the Warren Harding football and basketball teams. Her most enjoyment in life was her grandson, Todd, and her great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Charles R. Davis, and her sister, Betty Martin Guy. Surviving are a daughter, Susan (John) Jenkins of Clarkston, MI, a sister, Mary Jo Ketter of Minford, a grandson, Todd (Sarah) Jenkins of Evergreen, CO, and three great-grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth, and Peter Jenkins, and a family friend, Cathy Urey. A funeral service will be noon on Monday at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Frank James officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Brant's in Sciotoville one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Howland United Methodist Church.
