Phyllis Hammond

Phyllis J. Hammond, 77, of Sciotodale, died Sunday, August 24, 2014, at her home. Born on April 29, 1937 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Edgar “Ben” and Ina Gammon Hammond and was retired from Mitchellace with over 20 years of service.
Surviving are a son, Steve (Victoria) Hammond of Augusta, GA; a daughter, Sheila (Dan) Burk, with whom she resided; five grandchildren, Mark (Melanie) Manchester, Kelli Manchester Balzer, Tiffany (Dale) Langley, Ina Marie Hammond and Gabriel Hammond; and six great-grandchildren, Jordan, Dylan, Devin, Destiny, Sedona and Paisley.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Darrell Nickles officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Brant’s after 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
