Nannie Skaggs

Nannie Laura Skaggs, 81, formerly of Sciotoville, died on Saturday, May 18, 2013, in the Southern Ohio Medical Center emergency room.  Born on May 18, 1932 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Gus and Addie Medley Bennett, a 1950 graduate of East High School, and attended Calvary Baptist Church.  Also preceding her in death was her husband, Paul Skaggs, a son, Paul Steven Skaggs, and a sister, Helen Williams.  Surviving are a son, James (Margie) Skaggs of Jackson, two brothers, Gus Bennett, Jr. of Minford and Gary Bennett of Sciotoville, a sister, Alma Hale of New Boston, two grandchildren, Aarin McCarthy and Paul S. Skaggs, Jr., and five great-grandchildren.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. Ryan Brown officiating.  Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Brant’s from 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday.
