Nancy Williams

June 16, 1946 — November 11, 2017

Nancy Ann Williams, 71, of Hill View, formerly of Wheelersburg, died Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the SOMC Hospice Center. Born on June 16, 1946 in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late John and Jennie Lewis Myers and was also preceded in death by her husband, James D. Williams.

Nancy was a graduate of Gallia Academy High School.  She received her bachelor of education degree from Rio Grande College, where she was a member of the Grande Chorale and served as their accompanist.

Nancy was an elementary school teacher, having taught in Circleville, New Boston and Wheelersburg Local School districts.  She was a member of the Scioto County Retired Teachers Association and Delta Kappa Gamma.

A member of the Wheelersburg United Methodist Church, Nancy served as their organist for over 40 years and dedicated her time to many committees of the church.

Surviving are her daughter, Jill (Todd) Preston of Portsmouth, a grandson Tanner Preston, a brother, William Myers of Jackson; three nieces; three nephews and several aunts.

A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 15th at the Wheelersburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Perry Prosch officiating.  Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive guests at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wheelersburg United Methodist Church and the SOMC Transcending Lives Campaign.
