Myla Born

Myla Jean Born , 87, of Sciotoville, died Monday, September 2, 2013, at the Concord Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Born on March 1, 1926 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Bessie Hoover Clark, was a retired teacher for Portsmouth City Schools, and was a member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church.  Also preceding her in death were her husband, Robert S. Born, a son, Tommy Dee Born, and a sister, Erma Cornwell.  Surviving are a son, Jason (Stephanie) Born of Sciotoville, two daughters, Penny Sue (Denny) Inlow of Columbus and Jean Ann (Howard) Dortch of Wheelersburg, seven grandchildren and four great-grandsons.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Yokum as celebrant.  Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
