Meredith Adkins

Meredith Lenora Adkins, 90, of Wheelersburg, died Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Best Care Nursing & Rehab Center in Wheelersburg. Born April 30, 1921 in Scioto Furnace, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Allie Bettis and was a former custodian for Union Free Will Baptist Church. Meredith was a member of Union Free Will Baptist Church and its Philathia Class and was associated with Meals on Wheels. Also preceding her in death were her husband, George Samuel Adkins, brothers Fred, Eldridge and Albert Bettis and a sister, Zelma Rawlins. Surviving are two sons, Donald L. (Tammy) Adkins of Sciotoville and Samuel Eugene (Vickie) Adkins of Wheelersburg, a sister, Phyllis Caldwell of Wheelersburg, two grandsons, Mike Adkins and Jonathan Adkins, four great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. Chris Oiler officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Sciotoville 6 pm – 8 pm on Tuesday.
