May Bennett, 90, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at the Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing in Dublin. Born on May 17, 1926 in Scioto County, she was a daughter of the late John and Violet Watkiins Whitely and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, Bernard Bennett, three brothers, Ed, Henry and Kenneth Whitely and a sister, Rosa May.
May is survived by a son, Michael (Rebecca) Bennett of Portsmouth; a daughter, Diana (Jim) Hieneman of Hilliard; a sister, Goldie Weddington of Wheelersburg; four grandchildren, Larry, Shannon, Sarah and Matthew; seven great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson.
A Celebration of May’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 21st, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. John Gowdy officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
