Lowell Atkins

October 3, 1934 — September 23, 2014

Lowell Thomas Atkins, 79, of Minford, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Hill View Health Care. Born on October 3, 1934 in New Boston, he was a son of the late John and Mary Goodwin Atkins, was a retired yard master for the Norfolk and Western Railroad and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Also preceding him in death were his wife, Naomi Lee Atkins, a daughter, Nancy Cooper and a brother, Bob Atkins.

Surviving are a son, Lowell T. (Kelly) Atkins of Minford; a daughter, Diane (Richard) Havens of Minford; five grandchildren, Richard Havens II, Sarah Havens Thorton, Chris Havens, Heather Pelfrey and Jonathan Atkins; four great-grandchildren and five brothers, Carl, Wayne, Don, David and Ron Atkins.

A service will be held at the convenience of the family with Brad Harris officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.

Arrangements are under the direction of the BRANT FUNERAL SERVICE IN SCIOTOVILLE.
