Joyce Russell

Joyce A. Russell, 78, of Sciotoville, died peacefully on Tuesday afternoon at the SOMC Hospice Center with her family at her bedside. Born on January 17, 1938 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Ruby Nolan and was formerly employed at the Southern Ohio Medical Center. Joyce attended Salem Community Church.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, James Russell and a sister, Yvonne Sparks.
Surviving are two sons, Gary (Carol) Nolan of West Portsmouth and James A. (Sharon) Russell of Delaware; a daughter, Debra White of West Portsmouth; two brothers, Oscar (Pam) Nolan and James (Sue) Nolan, all of Sciotoville; two sisters, Louella Evans of Clarktown and Delores (Joe) Daugherty of New Boston; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 25th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Dennis Hamilton officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Memorial gifts may be made to SOMC Hospice.
