John William Shively, 71, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the SOMC Hospice Center. Born on July 31, 1939 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Forest and Wilma Brown Shively. John was formerly employed at the Berndt & Murfin Insurance Agency and the Goodyear Atomic Plant. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Gary Shively. Survivors include a brother, Rudy Shively of Portsmouth and a sister, Bonnie Turner of Gastonia, NC, a niece, Shauna Turner and a nephew, Dean Turner. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
