John T. King, 66, of Wheelersburg, died Sunday, December 1, 2013, at the SOMC Hospice Center. Born on June 12, 1947 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late James King, Mildred Bishop King and Gloria Gifford King and was of the Baptist faith. John was an Army veteran of the Viet Nam War, a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a former lieutenant at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility.
Surviving are four brothers, James G. King of Wheelersburg, Daniel E. King of Minford, and Keith King and Brian L. King, both of Lucasville, three sisters, Carolyn Sanders of Mt. Sterling, Debra Arnett of Wheelersburg and Lisa King of Sciotoville, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE. Interment will be in South Webster Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brant’s from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice.
