Jean Powell

Jean Powell, 83, of Lucasville, died Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the SOMC Hospice Center, with her family by her bedside. Born on December 1, 1941, in Sciotoville, she was the daughter of the late David and Alice Thompson Powell.

Jean was a graduate of Minford High School and retired from Southern Ohio Medical Center.

Also preceding her in death was two brothers, Kenneth Powell and Glenn Powell and her life-long friend, Dorthy Clifford.

Surviving are two brothers, Dennis Powell and Galen Powell; several nieces and nephews and her special friends, Sheila Gray and Becky Brannan.

A service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Edgewood Abbey Mausoleum with Pastor Phillip Ruark officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.

The family will receive guests at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

At the family’s request, memorial donations may be made to SOMC Hospice.
