Esther Schwamberger

June 7, 1924 — December 8, 2014

Esther J. Schwamberger , 90, of Sciotoville, died Monday, December 08, 2014, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center emergency room as a result of a traffic accident. Born on June 7, 1924 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Melvina Mullen Kuhner. Formerly employed at Williams Manufacturing Company, she was retired from the Senior Center in Portsmouth.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Schwamberger, three brothers, Billy Kuhner, Earl Brant and Lon Brant and his wife Gin, and five sisters, Marjorie Weghorst and her husband Paul, Georgia Filkiins and her husband Vern, Bettie Turner and her husband Henry, Jessie Kuhner and Carrie Brant.

Esther is survived by her nieces and nephews, Joyce Mehrle, Fred (Sally) Weghorst, Carolyn Colegrove, Mike (Barb) Filkins, Connie (Dave) Schwamburger, Jeff (Barb) Brant, Jeff (Dreama) Flowers, Greg (Jill) Flowers, Karen (Dee) Mauk, Roger (Betty) Bahner, Patty Davis, Susan Douglass, Peggy (Randy) Wheeler, Mike (Gay) Cooley and Jon (Annette) Cooley; a sister-in-law, Norma (Ray) Wiltshire and brothers-in-law, Paul (Ginny) Schwamberger and Don Cooley.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Sciotoville Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Ed Myers and Rev. Chad Garinger officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive guests at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sciotoville Church of the Nazarene or SOMC Hospice.
