David W. Bauer, age 94, of Wheelersburg, fell asleep in death on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at BridgePort Health Care Center. Born on June 30, 1931, in Elm Grove, WV, the son of the late Raymond W. and Edna Houston Bauer.
David graduated from Tridelphia High School. He began working for the B&O railroad in various places, Montgomery Wards in Parkersburg, WV and Portsmouth, OH. Then he worked at Kenrick’s Catalog show room until he retired. He enjoyed being outdoors with his dogs, traveling with his wife, family and friends, playing golf especially with his friends and helping friends with their various projects.
David was baptized on September 4, 1955, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He’s deep love for Jehovah moved him to teach and comfort many with the Bibles Kingdom message about the earth being restored to a paradise and of the resurrection hope.
David was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Joanne M. Bauer, whom he married in December 1954, a brother, Earl and a sister-in-law, Patricia Bauer and two sisters, Dorothy Bauer and Emma Belle Bauer.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel W. and Susan L. Bauer and nephews, Mark, John, James and Peter Bauer.
Interment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11th at the Greenup, KY Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Elder Scott Literal officiating.
