Charlene McGinnis

January 18, 1927 — May 7, 2016

Charlene Eloise McGinnis, 89, of Sciotoville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 7, 2016, with her family by her bedside.  Born on January 18, 1927 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Fannie Stevens King and was formerly employed at the Scioto Shoe Mart.  Charlene was a proud and active member of Milldale Road Apostolic Church.

Also preceding her in death were brothers Ernie, Garrett, Jim and Earl King; sisters Ruth Farris, Juanita Biggam and Gladys Brown and a grandson, Jared Dever.

Surviving are the love of her life for 72 years, her husband, Paul; three sons, Calvin (Mieko) McGinnis of Oakland, CA, Doug (Anita) McGinnis of Minford and Tony (Marsha) McGinnis of Minford; two daughters, Paula (Al) Mauricio of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Valerie McGinnis of Minford; four sisters, Fern McQuithy of New Boston, Nancy (Roger) Maloney of South Webster, Sharon (Dave) Burns of Riverside, CA and Gayle Cyrus of New Boston; eight grandchildren, Josh McGinnis, Jason McGinnis, Jessica Wheeler, Megan Dever, Miranda Estep, Janelle Frazie and Joseph Mauricio; and sixteen great-grandchildren, Joseph, Jordan, Jaclyn, Christina, Emily, Mason, Andrew, Bryce, Loren, Kooper, Kaylee, Riley, Ava, Ella, Carter and Colton.

Charlene’s legacy will be her love for her children and grandchildren.

A Celebration of Charlene’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11th at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. Randy Schintzius officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive guests at Brant’s after 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.  Memorial gifts may be made to SOMC Hospice or Milldale Road Apostolic Church.
