Carl Bracken

July 5, 1948 — December 24, 2013

Carl Lowell “Dick” Bracken, 65, of Lucasville, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at the SOMC Hospice Center.  Born on July 5, 1948, he was a son of the late Dick Dever and Ruby Nickells Bracken and was currently a custodian for the SOMC Friend’s Center for over seven years.  An Air Force veteran of the Viet Nam War, he was also a retired corrections officer for SOCF with 31 years of service.

Dick is survived by a daughter, Payton Alexandria Dever-Bracken of Lucasville, a stepson, Bronston Bennett of Wheelersburg, a sister, Kathy Boehm of Portsmouth, 2 nephews, Aaron Boehm of Cincinnati and Joseph Glascock of Portsmouth, a niece, Amy (James) Bond of Sciotoville and a great-nephew, Chase Bond.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE.  Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.  The family will receive friends at Brant’s from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
