Walter “Bill” Green, 86, of Portsmouth, died Thursday, August 18, 2022, in the SOMC Hospice Center. Born on January 21, 1936 in Ironton, he was a son of the late Agnes Caldwell Bates.
Bill was a retired auto body instructor at the Joint Vocational School with 37 years of service and a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a longtime member of the Shawnee Boat Club and the James Dickey Post #23 of the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Marge Green, two daughters, Sandy Hanes and Johnnie Manchester and 12 grandchildren.
A private burial will be in Memorial Burial Park.
The flags on the avenue will fly in honor of proud veteran, Bill.
