Betty Fletcher
July 14, 1929 — June 15, 2014
Betty R. Fletcher, 84, of Portsmouth, died Sunday, June 15, 2014, in the Southern Ohio Medical Center. Born on July 14, 1929 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Ingram Edward Buchanan and Pearl Brewer Buchanan.
Betty worked at the former Kresge’s, retired from K-Mart, and was a private caregiver. She was a member of Milldale Road Church of Christ in Christian Union and a graduate of East High School.
Also preceding her in death were her husbands, Robert L. Moore and Roger Fletcher, a brother, James Buchanan, and two sisters, Mae Brown and Naomi Stone.
Surviving are a daughter, Anita Culp of Portsmouth, a son, Greg Fletcher of Ashtabula, two sisters, Pauline Noel and Juanita Jarrells, both of Portsmouth, four grandchildren, Matthew (Kayla) Culp, Jennifer Davis, Alexis Fletcher and Lauren Fletcher, and two great-granddaughters, Grace Davis and Ryleigh Koren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18 th , at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Pat Burnett officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
