Betty R. Davis, 87, of New Boston, died Saturday, October 08, 2016 at Pristine Senior Living. Born on December 3, 1928 in New Boston, she was a daughter of the late, William M. Jones and Nancy Alice Sullivan Jones. Betty was of the Christian faith and retired from the Minford School District.
Survivors include a son, Terry L. (Annette) Davis of Alachua, FL; a daughter, Carol (David) Bentley of South Portsmouth, KY; a sister, Callie Ann Moore Nelson of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, James and Tom Davis, Meagan (Richard, Jr.) Mays, and Ashley (Michael) Mullins; four great-grandchildren, Micah Mullins, Josie Mullins, Sawyer Mays and Liam Mays; and several loving nieces and nephews. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Leonard, Clyde and David Jones; and two sisters, Mina Perdue and Marmie Gill.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Luke Bentley, III officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
