Anna Day

November 26, 1931 — January 12, 2016

Anna Delores Day, 84, was received into the Kingdom of her Heavenly Father on the morning of January 12, 2016.  Anna was surrounded by the love of her life, her husband of 67 years, Charles Victor Day, her daughter, Gloria Ann Adams and son in-law, David Adams, and special friend, Reverend Randy Schintzius.

Anna was born on November 26th, 1931 in Scioto County.  She was the youngest of nine children born to the late Laura Neal Christensen and Clarence Christensen.  Anna was predeceased by her brothers Sam, Charlie and Walter Cogan and brothers James and Paul DeHart, and her sisters Pearl Hall, Mildred Burton and Wilma Moore.

Anna’s life and the life she shared with Charles was built on a solid foundation of loving and serving their Lord when the two of them met at a church service when she was just 17.  Anna and Charles were united in marriage on March 26th 1949 in Greenup, Kentucky.  On September 8th, 1950 they welcomed their only child and pride and joy, Gloria Ann.  Anna was the proud grandmother of Lisa Renee (Roger) Holbrook of Lucasville and Julie Ann DeCamp of Chillicothe.  Anna was also the proud great-grandmother of Eryn Kristopher DeCamp and Karson Ryder DeCamp, both of Chillicothe, Ohio.  She was also the Godmother of Matthew and Jonathon Neal.

Anna was a gifted musician who loved to play the piano and sing for her church alongside Charles.  Anna and Charles were members of the Apostolic Gospel Church, Pentecostals of Portsmouth and have always enjoyed their church and church family while ministering to their community in whatever way the Lord asked of them.  Anna also worked in various retail outlets throughout her life and retired from Wolf Clothing in 2007.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE, Saturday January 16th at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Tim Loper, Jr and Reverend Robert Coffey III officiating.  Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.  The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
