Susan Kaye Stringer, 56, of Wheelersburg, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center emergency room.  Born on September 1, 1961 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of Paul and Melba Williams Craft and child care provider for many years.

She was a devoted wife, mother, mamaw, and friend.  She loved her children so much and raised them with a gentle voice and loving hand with her family being her world.  A 1979 graduate of South Webster High School.  Susan had many family members whom she loved, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  Susan was full of love and showed it every day with kind words and love notes that she left for us with her uplifting words that will be a part of us forever.

Susan sang in various churches growing up, and in her adult life sang in a band making two records.  One highlight of her life was singing in Nashville.

Preceding her death were her father, Paul Craft, and a brother, Hank Craft.

Surviving are her husband, James “Jim” Stringer, a son, Brandon Stringer of Wheelersburg’ a daughter, Ashley (David) Glascock of Wheelersburg; her mother, Melba Craft Comer of Wheelersburg; two sisters, Kim Craft of Portsmouth and Rebecca (Scott) Will of Wheelersburg and two twin granddaughters, Hayley and Breana Glascock.

Her husband, Jim, children and granddaughters were her life.  Susan and Jim shared a love like no other, having met in the sixth grade they overcame every obstacle in their path.  They were soul mates and she loved Jim with every part of her being.  Susan was not only a beloved mother to her children, but she was Brandon and Ashley’s best friend, their “rock”.  Susan cared for her granddaughters and made so many memories with them.  Hayley and Breana made a pack with mamaw and started their “ya-ya” club, where they could share their secrets with mamaw.  Mamaw Sue and the girls had a bond that will always remain.

A Celebration of Susan’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Merit Smith officiating.
