Homer Gene HensonJanuary 24, 1923 ~ February 15, 2017 (age 94)
Homer Gene Henson, 94, of Wheelersburg, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Born on January 24, 1923 in Eden Park, he was a son of the late Taylor and Ina Cassidy Henson and resided with his grandparents in early childhood in Grayson. Homer was a member of Truth Tabernacle and was a teamster.
A proud Marine veteran, he served in World War II.
Also preceding him in death were a son, Mikel Gene Henson; nine brothers: a sister and a grandson, Eric Camp.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy C. Stone Henson; three daughters, Judy (Roger) Cartnal of Newark, Joanna (Ken) Saltz of Patskala and Cathy (Mike) Camp of Ft. Myers, Fla; two stepsons, James D. Houston of Columbus and Michael (Tonya) Houston of St. Marys, WV; a brother, Richard Henson of Carson City, NV; a sister, Gladys Riggs of Lucasville; sixteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 20th, at Truth Tabernacle in Wheelersburg with Rev. Robert Davis I officiating. Interment will be in the Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 93 from Kenova, WV.
The family will receive guests at Truth Tabernacle after 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Arrangements are under the direction of the BRANT FUNERAL SERVICE IN SCIOTOVILLE.
The flags on the avenue will fly in honor of a proud veteran, Homer Henson.
